Stonewall Sand Volleyball is a community run sand volleyball league. Our focus is on providing a social atmosphere for the LGBTQIA+ community to come together and build community while engaging in light competition. All skill levels are welcome and no prior experience with sand volleyball is needed to join. We offer three divisions (competitive, intermediate, and social) to do our best to ensure all players can find an experience they are looking for on the courts. 

As this is a community run league, we ask all players to be familiar with the rules, teams to regularly serve as head refs and line judges during the season, that teams commit to ensuring they can field a team for every day of play, and that teams work together to facilitate fair gameplay and a friendly atmosphere. While we ask teams to provide referees and line judges for each game, league leadership will always be on site to answer questions, support with challenging calls, and maintain the official record of all team scores throughout the season.

When: Wednesday Nights, 6:10pm - 11:00pm

*Teams schedules will vary, all teams should anticipate having games at any/all time slots and be able to field a team at that time*

Dates: 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/2, 8/9, 8/16

Where: Drexel University- Buckley Sand Volleyball Courts, 30 N 33rd st. (33rd & Arch)

Teams: 24 Teams Max, 8-10 players per team*

Cost: $65 per player - includes Stonewall Sand Volleyball T-Shirt or Tank Top

*Play: 8-week sand volleyball league with teams competing head-to-head each week. 4 players are on the court at a time and all players present must be in rotation each game to play. A minimum of 4 players are needed to play each week.

Free Agents: Two team spots will be held for free agents for a total of 24 free agent spots. Free agents who want to ensure they are paired on a team with 1 or more players also registering as a free agent should register as a small group.

Captains: Team captains are responsible for registering their team, selecting team experience level, affirming they have enough players to meet the required team size, tracking registration of their team to ensure all players are registered by the deadline, being familiar with the rules, and communicating with their team throughout the season to ensure there are enough players to play each week, teams are aware of ref responsibilities, and that all pertinent league information reaches the team.
